Climate and Weather

While most parts of Kenya exhibit more or less the same climatic conditions, when traveling across different parts of Kenya, you will experience varying weatherpatterns due to Kenya's differing topographical dimensions.

In most parts of the country, the coolest season falls between July and August with temperatures dropping to the low 50's(°F). In as much as Kenya does not have summer in particular, the months between February and March are known to be the hottest season with temperatures going as high as 93°F.

Generally people talk about wet or dry seasons as opposed to summer, winter, spring or autumn. However, summers, between November and February, are warm and pleasant, with temperatures hovering around the 77°F (25°C) mark. Winter days, between June and August, are mild to cool, with cold evenings when the temperature can drop to 50 °F (10 °C). The rainy season in Kikuyu is during late summer and into autumn, when it is often cloudy and damp, but rainfall is seldom very heavy. The drizzliest months are March to May and October to December.
